How We Work and Our Editorial Standards

What we publish, how we check it and, just as important, what we will not claim. Our standards for guides, tools and software descriptions.

What we are

MORETHAN.ONE is an independent resource for freelancers, consultants, creators and other one-person businesses. We publish practical guides, free tools and plain-English explanations of software and AI. We are funded by affiliate partnerships, explained on our page on how we make money.

How we write guides

  • We start with a real problem. Late payments, too much admin, unclear pricing. Not with a keyword or a product.
  • We write for people who are not technical. A freelance photographer who dreads invoicing should feel as welcome as a consultant experimenting with AI.
  • We give practical steps. Templates, timelines, checklists and worked examples you can use today.
  • We use original examples, and we label them. Where we describe a person or scenario to illustrate a point, we mark it as hypothetical. We do not publish testimonials, invented interviews or made-up statistics.
  • We cite sources for factual claims and list them at the end of each guide, along with the date we checked them.
  • We use AI tools to help research, draft and edit, and a person is responsible for what we publish. We do not publish claims we cannot support.

How we describe software

This is where trust is most easily lost, so we are specific.

  1. We use primary sources. Descriptions come from each company's own website, documentation and terms, checked on the date shown on the page.
  2. We do not claim hands-on testing we have not done. Unless a page says "tested by us" and explains what we tested and how, assume we have read about a product, not used it. At the moment, our software descriptions are based on published information.
  3. We cover limits, not just features. Every product description includes things to check, such as plan caps, regional differences and who it may not suit.
  4. We take prices from official pages, and date them. Where we show prices or plan limits, they come from the company's own pricing page, with the date we checked and a link. We show standard prices, mention promotional offers separately, and say when a limit or price is not stated by the vendor. Prices change and vary by country, so always confirm before you buy.
  5. We do not publish statistics we cannot trace. A number goes on the page only if we can link to the original source and say who measured it, when and how. If we cannot, we leave it out.
  6. We do not rank or crown winners. We describe who a product may suit and how to choose. We do not use star ratings, scores or "best" labels, and we do not publish fabricated reviews.
  7. We name free and manual alternatives. Sometimes the right answer is a spreadsheet.
  8. We do not claim tools work together unless we have verified it. When we suggest a combination, we say it is a starting point to evaluate.

How we use affiliate relationships

Commissions never decide what we write. Whether a company has an affiliate program does not determine whether we cover it or what we say. We do not accept payment for placement, reviews or recommendations. Read the full explanation in How we make money.

What we do not do

  • We do not give legal, tax, financial or medical advice. Our guides are general information. For decisions with real consequences, talk to a qualified professional.
  • We do not promise results, such as faster payment, more clients or higher income.
  • We do not use fake urgency, countdown timers or misleading discounts.
  • We do not use popups or require registration to read or use anything.
  • We do not collect personal information through our tools. They run in your browser. See our privacy policy.

Accuracy and updates

Software changes constantly. Every guide shows the date it was published and the date its facts were last checked. Product descriptions show when they were last verified. We review pages periodically and update them when we find changes. If you notice something out of date, please tell us.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we want to know. Contact us with the page and what you think is incorrect, ideally with a source. We will check it and fix confirmed errors promptly. For significant corrections, we will note the change on the page.

Independence

We are not an official partner of any company we mention. Product names and logos belong to their owners. We use typographic names and no company logos unless we have permission. If we ever have a financial or personal interest in a product beyond an affiliate relationship, we will disclose it where it is relevant.
