About
About MORETHAN.ONE
One person can now run a business with capabilities that once took a team. MORETHAN.ONE helps you find them, understand them and use them, without the jargon.
The idea
For a long time, running a business alone meant doing every job yourself: the work, the invoicing, the scheduling, the chasing, the marketing and the bookkeeping. Larger businesses had people for those. You had evenings.
That is changing. Modern software, automation and AI can take on more of the operational load of a business of one. But the options are tangled in jargon, and most advice about them comes from the companies selling them.
MORETHAN.ONE exists to be the independent starting point. Our promise is simple: more capabilities, still just you.
Who it is for
- Freelancers and independent contractors
- Consultants and advisors
- Designers, writers, photographers and other creative professionals
- Solo marketers and service-business owners
- Creators and content producers
- People building a one-person business
You do not need to be technical. A freelance photographer who struggles with invoicing should feel just as welcome as a consultant experimenting with AI agents.
What we believe
- Technology should amplify the person, not replace them. You stay the creative force, the decision-maker and the face of the business. Software handles more of the busywork.
- The simplest thing that works is usually right. A spreadsheet beats a subscription you do not need.
- Plain English wins. If a guide needs a glossary to be understood, we have not done our job.
- Honesty about limits builds trust. We tell you what a tool does not do.
What you will find here
- Guides that explain how to get paid, save time and use AI sensibly
- Free tools, including a rate calculator, an invoice due-date calculator and the Org Chart of One
- A software directory organized by the job each tool does, with limits and free alternatives
- Templates you can use today
Independence and funding
MORETHAN.ONE is free to use and is funded by affiliate partnerships. We explain exactly how in How we make money, and our standards for research and writing in How we work. We are not an official partner of the companies we mention. It is published by Serpentine Foundry.
